Four new Studies are currently under way.
 

14.  Applications and Modelling in Mathematics Education.

The IPC for this Study is chaired by Werner Blum (blum@mathematik.uni-kassel.de), University of Kassel, Germany. The Discussion Document for this Study was published in 2002 and the Study Conference will be held the University of Dortmund, Germany, on February 13-17, 2004.
 
15.  Teacher Education and Development.

The two co-chairs for this Study are Deborah Ball (dball@umich.edu), University of Michigan, USA, and Ruhama Even (ruhama.even@weizmann.ac.il),Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. The Discussion Document should be available during the first months of 2003 and the Study Conference is planned to take place in Brazil in 2003.
 
16.  Challenging Mathematics in and Beyond the Classroom.

The two co-chairs for this Study are Edward J. Barbeau (barbeau@math.toronto.edu), University of Toronto, Canada, and Peter J. Taylor (pjt@amt.canberra.edu.au), University of Canberra, Australia. The Discussion Document should be available in 2004 and the Study Conference is planned to take place in 2005/2006.
 
17.  Technology Revisited.

The two co-chairs for this Study are Celia Hoyles (c.hoyles@ioe.ac.uk), Institute of Education, University of London, UK, and Jean-Baptiste Lagrange (jb.lagrange@reims.iufm.fr), IUFM de Reims, France. The Discussion Document should be available in 2004 and the Study Conference is planned to take place in 2005/2006.
