The Executive Committee proposes the following slate for International Commission on Mathematical Instruction - ICMI (1999-2002):

The choice of the names was based on mathematical activities in general, specially the activities to foster good mathematical education throughout the world at all level. Also, a geographic balance was taken into consideration. A specific concern was to ensure that ICMI continues its tradition of being a forum in which researchers in mathematics and researchers in mathematical education can exchange ideas.
